Lace, Lace and More Lace

This vintage Victorian inspired fabric has made its debut at multiple designer shows from Prada to Marchesa to Givenchy and off course Victoria’s Secret, it also has many fashionista’s such as Rihana wearing it. One of the latest trends for fall 2008 is Lace, a little bit of it will take your holiday outfit for regular to fab. Keep in mind my fashion darling, wearing Victorian is not the same as wearing Lace, rummaging though your grandma’s closet for her vintage lace frock will not cut it. Try looking for a cropped short vest or even a lace tank (Try Michelle New York, in Brooklyn). Other good pieces would include a full lace skirt (try Michelle New York, in Brooklyn), complete with a gorgeous shirt and your ready for a night out. Just remember on those Christmas parties are coming and shopping is evident, Michelle New York in Brooklyn, New York (376 Atlantic Ave) is the place for perfect little black dresses.

Victoria Secret Fashion Show 2008

So as I was checking out some past years of the Victoria Secert fashion show and can I say these people are just great at designing the pieces that are featured in the show. So since i didn't see any clips from the upcoming show taken which will be aired on December 3th on CBS I decided to add this little slide show.

The VS angels looking just scrumptious. With performances by Usher the show was speckled with beauty people in the audience including Sean "Pdiddy" Combs, Kim Kardasisan, Amanda Bynes and many more. I just can't wait for it to be aired on television.

Forever 21

So I am shopping for a last minute party tonight and I stumble into Forever 21 after viewing their website. I had to buy these cute little suede velvet anke boots. Even though there are like 5 inch and kill my feet after about 20 minutes of walking they are just too dam fab. With those i picked up some 12.50 denium which were made perfectly. I just love them, going back to pick up a whole bunch more (if they have it in my size.
I just love these boots. They are not as comfy as a on their own but pair it with some gel pads and you will be fine.

The $12.50 denim, I love these. They have a great stretch and shape that will leave your body looking like Gisele and the other Victoria's Secret moels.

Michelle NewYork

As I was walking in Brooklyn (the good side) passing vintage shops and clothing stores with different clothing I happen to spot this beautiful funky shop called Michelle NewYork. As I strolled in I was striked by these beautiful pieces from designers many of which I didn't know, but got aquaited with real quick with the help of the nicest store help. So as I was browsing I met the owner Michelle who is in every way, shape and form the Michelle NewYork woman. The clothing is for the Sex and the City woman in us all. From the Carrie's to the Samantha's to the Miranda's and even the Charlotte's, Michelle NewYork is the store for you.
Their blog lets you into the stylists point of view, within the store you can get dressed by the a stylist with a style personnality of Anna WIntour or Merly Streep character in The Devil Wear's Prada. He can have you leaving the store looking like a million bucks.

Trends for Fall, Can you handle them???

This fall is all about being fashionable and chic with somewhere to go. Straight from the runway has never been an accessibility that not everybody has but who said we have to spend our rent check for a runway look. Sit back and enjoy as I give you the runway hit and ways to recreate without having to lose your apartment.

Trend: The Belle Curves
Seen on the runways of Louis Vuttion, Balenciagia, Bottega Veneta, Burberry Prorsum, and others. The Belle curve give the female woman an extra punch to the hip area. It gives new definition to the female figure.

Get ready to recycle, remember this look The high-waisted cinched look, helped to created a new line on the body. The Belle Curve does the same thing, using the belt at hip line, right below the belly-button a drop waist blazer, or a puffy coat. With this look even the most curve-less figure will have a waist and hips.

Trend: The Country Life
This season designers revived that country feel that we all long for at least of you have ever had the time to visit the country. When you think of country, you think of baggy overalls and checkered plaids that make you want to through up. The clothing is usually misshaped and not for everybody form. But this season designers such as:
ADAM
Alexander McQueen
Badgley Mishka
Carolina Herrera
D&G
Daughters by Obedient Sons
Dolce & Gabbana
OK now you know I have to give you the skinny on these fabulous pieces with a not so fab price. H&M has really nice plaid jackets which give effect of ADAM and D&G. While a vintage store could give you the Dolce & Gabbana look. And wide legs trousers are back, pair with a fitted plaid shirt and a vest, for that country-city chic look. And pull those fur vest out they are back and in style, fashion yours up with a big brooch and your set.

Trend: Almost futuristic but still wearable in FALL 2008
OK, we know the future is coming but I don't know about the rest of you all but I'm ready for clothing NOW. Going though FALL 2008 pictures I have already started to form my closet and boy do I have some sewing to do. These designers have influenced my closet for the next 3 months.
Alessandro Dell'Acqua
Antonio Berardi
Givechy
Fendi
Gareth Pugh
Rodarte
Michael Angel
Iceberg
Haider Ackermann
All these looks are perfect for the fashionista who wants to look different and still maintain a somewhat wearable store bought look. That Rodarte look and the Iceberg look worn by Chanel Iman is absolutely beautiful and is coming to my closet very soon
OK now this Rodarte look, ultra easy, go find some old sweaters and just go crazy, pulling and stretching them till they have bigger spaces between each stitch।

Trend:WinterGreen
The WinterGreen look is for that spring girl who will not fall victim to the cold of fall/winter. It can also be look at as an updated version of Country Life, a Country City Chic if you may. Done gracefully in prints of leaves flowers and even with some of the textures being very much real (feathers). With a punch of color bring a summery feel to those winter days.
Marchesa
Fendi
Jean Paul Gaultier
Hussein Chalayan
Gary Graham
Chado Ralph Rucci
Behnaz Sarafpour

The Gatekeepers of NYC fashion

The fashion industry contributes $47 Billion to New York City. I didn't even know it was that much till recently when I was reading this article in the Daily News about the 50 most powerful people in fashion. Well how about I give you a run down if you didn't get a chance to read the article, which should probably be in every store in NYC because we as fashion buyers, designers, sewers, sellers, etc live and breath this air (it may be some what toxic, but its our air). These people make it easy for us to be fashionable everyday.
*Anna Wintour, Editor
Editor of American Vogue, one of the best vogues if I do say so myself. With that powerful bob and dark sunglasses she is the epitome of fashion.
* Patrick Robinson, Head Designer @ Gap Inc.
Yes Gap where many of today's New Yorkers can find everything, from that little black dress to the perfect pair of jeans. With his work spanning from Armani, Paco Rabanne and Perry Ellis it no wonder GAP is a wearable trend for everyone.
*Marc Jacobs, designer (Marc Jacobs, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton)
It seems that this man is going to be the next Karl Lagerfeld, or at least he is trying to be. With three labels under his hand, he has supervised the cutting, patterning and draping of some exquisite pieces that have graces the runways every year at MB fashion week. His stores on Bleecker St are havens to the fashionable public and college students who recently got their refund check.
*Gisele Bundchen, Model
This sex siren is known as an endorsement magnet. Her long legs and boyish walk (not to mention that GORGEOUS BOD) makes her one of the most highly paid models in the industry
*Mayor Micheal Bloomberg
Yes I know it was quite a shocker to me too, but he is very much a business man. He understand that New York fashion week generated much needed cash to help our economy. And parents say fashion is a dead end job.
*Fern Mallis Senior VP IMG fashion
The Brains behind it all, she is the reason for Mercedes Benz fashion week. She started it in 1993 and today she heads the 80 show circus as well as clones it in other cities such as Mumbai, Moscow and Berlin.
*Constance White, ebay style director
With her eBay has become the place for fashionistas looking for vintage and sold-out pieces from seasons past and beyond.
*Diane Von Furtenberg, designer and CFDA chairwoman
The woman who created the wrap dress, who gave the children on project runway a task that quite frankly not many of then did good on. This chisel-cheeked Belgian is fashion fierce answer to the everyday woman.
*Patricia Field, stylist
The woman who had me and every other fashionista aware of bag, borrow and steal.com the website for the fashion conscious but not wallet conscious fashiontisa who wants the new IT bag for a few days or few weeks. Now after working her magic on the Sex and the City set she has set out to revamp the Ugly Betty style from chic to Patricia Field extraordinaire chic.
And last but never least
*Reed Krakoff, executive creative director Coach
The label that everybody should have at least one piece from. This label is the reason why many people are chic, with a bag hair or a hat there or even a pair of sunglasses Coach can make even the biggest fashion DON'T a fashion DO.
